Biomolecular Sciences is a rapidly developing discipline in modern life sciences at the crossroads of chemical, biological, physical and computational sciences focusing on the molecular understanding of cellular function.
In this field, Utrecht University has gained an outstanding scientific reputation for advanced structural analysis of biomolecules in the context of cellular systems. Research groups from the faculties of Biology, Chemistry, Pharmacy, Physics, Medicine and Veterinary Medicine are involved in the interdisciplinary programme. Our programme is directly linked to the PhD-programmes of the Bijvoet Center for Biomolecular Research and the Institute of Biomembranes.
The master's programme in Biomolecular Sciences was initiated to transfer this unique combination of interdisciplinary research to the next generation of students.
